Framed project, wips, and general update

Oh, sweet! I'm so happy I found a comm on DW... is this in any way related to the one on LJ? Either way, I guess I'll put my update post here, too.

Basically I didn't post my updates anywhere for a while so I sort of have a bunch of them piled up. Here we go...


Bonus dragon! I finally got around to framing this guy. I'm really happy with him :3 They did a wonderful job compensating for the stretching my sub-par treatment of this poor guy caused.


Much more recently, I completed a fractal I started... oh goodness, I probably started this thing five years ago! Wow.


Moving on, I'm currently backstitching a few projects I've been picking at for ages.


...I really love those grapes, haha.

I mislaid the thread for this one's backstich, but I'm hoping it's just tucked away in my stash somewhere.


I'm so close to being done with this one... I ran out of gold thread, though. I was planning to salvage some from my store of extra thread, I just never got around to it... sometime soon, I hope!


Last but not least, I have a couple still-being-cross stitched WIPs.

Frogs and tigers, two of my favorite animals! Haha. Now I just need an owl one to make the trifecta complete...

That fractal looks amazing! You wouldn't happen to still have a copy of the pattern, would you?

I'll have to dig around... I kind of destroyed the printout I made while I stitched it, but I really hope I didn't destroy the original download.

I'm headed out the door rn but I'll dig around when I get back and let you know if I can find it! Though word of warning, it's a ridiculous number of colors and translates to a rather large size unless you stitch it on like, 32.

Well that's what I ended up doing... perhaps you'll find a better way to do it.

I found the chart. It says it's 75x200 count, just to give you an idea of the size... but I'm not sure how to upload it so you or anyone else can have it. Any suggestions?

I've never worked on anything smaller than 14-ct, so this'll be exciting hahaha.

Is the pattern a hardcopy?

No, it was originally a download from a site that did monthly free fractal patterns.

Megaupload, maybe...? Hah, I've never tried sharing files on anything but dropbox before.

You can upload the pattern to sendspace.com even if you don't have an account. The download link expires after 30 days without activity, so it'll eventually stop working after a while.

It's fine! It's my night off anyway, I'm just sewing a bit and watching old episodes of Hercules.

Such gorgeous works. I love the dragon and the bookshelf. Is the dragon pattern from a book, magazine or from online? I've been making baby blankets and bibs and birth announcements for a few years, but you are inspiring me to go back to big gorgeous projects.

I found it as a kit in a store (Hobby Lobby, iirc), but I'm afraid I've forgotten what it was called. I only saw it once... good thing I grabbed it when I did!

I wonder if you can find it online...

Haha, maybe I should switch to making some of that stuff, at least I'd know what to do with it when I finished it XD
