WiP: Anything Goes Band Sampler

I took a class at this month's meeting of my EGA Chapter; I've never done this type of needlepoint before (although some of the stitches are familiar), so this has been a bit of learning experience for me. The project is supposed to be long and narrow (the example piece was a yard stick sleeve) but I've decided to do mine as a band for the top panel of a tote bag, so I've doubled the width of the blocks.

Block #1 of Anything Goes Sampler Band Criss-cross Hungarian stitch on 18ct khaki canvas using Caron Collection Watercolors 'Nefertiti #008'; the tiny spaces between stitch blocks are supposed to be filled with a cross stitch, but I've decided to place a bead there.

And now onto block #2, which is Elongated Cashmere done in six strands of DMC.
