Temperature Map 2019

I spent 2019 stitching the local weather. Each block represents the high temperature for that day and each color represents a five degree span.



Highs for December ranged from 24°F on December 10 to 62°F on December 26. Highs for 2019 ranged from -11°F on January 30 to 95°F on July 20. (Stats for 2018 can be found here.)

And that’s that for this piece of plastic canvas. This year I plan to do the highs and lows, and I also need to squeeze in an extra day for leap year, so I’ll be using the same colors with a different pattern.

Thanks! My favorite spots are where there are abrupt changes in the weather, so there's one lone warm block surrounded by cold, or vice versa.

I love this! I've seen similar things done with knitting - though usually a whole row or two in the one colour, the multiple blocks per day is really nice, and doing a whole year's worth of cross stitch will probably be way more affordable

I had originally seen it done in quilting, then in cross stitch. I've heard of people crocheting it, but I've never seen one. I didn't know people were knitting it, too.
