People assume stamped cross stitch is easier than counted, but then you misread a symbol on the stamped one and later wind up frogging an entire color

It's kinda like "I'm so bad at plants, I once killed a cactus" when cacti are just mortal organisms like any other plant; everyone kills them and sometimes they just die randomly.

I avoid stamped cross stitch like the plague because all the ones I've tried on aida have been printed just slightly off leaving me wondering which of two different colors a square is supposed to be and me + embroidery on cloth ends up with uneven Xs.

Ah yes... also backstitch lines are silly on them because you can't see them once you stitch over those spaces, so you have to use the paper pattern anyway

Yes! I thought it was just me, but this must be a common problem! I haven't done a stamped one for decades now for this very reason.
