glinda: dw sheep dreams of crochet (crochet sheep)

Late October
So, often in Winter I don't do very much, if any, cross-stitch due to the whole lack of light thing. Preferring instead to knit in winter and cross-stitch in Summer. However, this year I have actually been doing a fair amount of stitching, but due to the whole lack of light issue, I've not really been photographing my progress. But this is where I'd got to in late October. (I reckoned in my last post that I would have at least a little fairy to show off by the next week...and I did...I just never posted.)

Early January
As the light has started to get better (slowly, so very slowly) I've been able to take progress photos again that actually looked remotely true to life. The leaves are starting to fill in, a little bit like spring appearing after winter, its quite satisfying, and the fairy is really beginning to come into her own. Also after spending ages working on areas with lots of small amounts of stitches in very similar shades, today I took a break and did a decent sized chunk of solid lilac that made me feel I was actually getting somewhere with it!

I find the same thing, knitting more in winter, cross stitching in summer.

Large projects like this really intimidate me. I'm surprised with something so large that you didn't grid your fabric. Good luck.
