Cross-stitch Monday?

cross_stitchSo I've been enjoying kikotei's weekly updates on the progress of hir epic cross-stitch project and finding myself doing a big-for-me project (I normally do dinky little projects like coasters and bookmarks) I thought it might help motivate me to keep at the project by posting progress reports each week.
(Apologies for the picture quality, I was having a bit of a fight with the camera.) I've been doing lots of really fine cross-stich lately and the fabric this one is done on is much 'coarser' count, which was such a nice change that I fairly sped through it this weekend. I strongly suspect my progress will slow down now that I've got accustomed to it.
I'm making it as a present for my gran, so I've got a nominal deadline of late September as that's when her birthday is...but whether its done for then is another question.
