Cross Stitched Garden Fairies

I'm back with another set of recently completed projects. The magazine the charts were in called them Folk Art Angels, but to me they didn't seem like either, so I've been calling them Garden Fairies.

Yes, these are much simpler than the Flower Fairy designs, and cuter I think. I have stitched the Holly Fairy, many years ago, as a Christmas card for my mum (the chart was in a magazine, so probably a smaller version), and that took me months, but I stitched it using a single thread on 22 count hardanger, which seems to be a looser weave than aida. I had to be careful not to pull my stitches tight because they tended to slip under the cross-weave. That was the hardest thing I ever stitched. One day I'll find the card and post a photo of it.

Congratulations of conquering the Willow Fairy! I'd love to see a picture of the finished piece, that's a huge achievement! I don't think I'd have the courage for something so big!

It would take a lot longer to find it in my phone's memory!

It's hanging in the hall. And when my gran passed, I took a picture she drew of willow trees, framed it and hung it next to my stitching, which is a nice link

That's very sweet, hanging one of your gran's drawings next to it. A lovely way to remember her
